At the beginning of the 2008 season the name Malcolm Brown was known in Cibolo, located just north of San Antonio.

By the end of the season, which was ended early with a foot injury, there was no hiding for 6-1, 215-pound running back. Of course hiding is hard when you rush for 1,352 yards and 17 touchdowns in just over six games, while averaging 10.17 yards a carry as a sophomore.
