October 28, 2009 "The entire cross country community has enjoyed watching the event live on television and on the internet and everyone will be pleased they have the ability to do that again this year on Versus." - NCAA chair of the Division I men's and women's cross country committee and head coach of cross country at Bradley, David Beauchem, after it was announced that Versus will air the NCAA Cross Country Championships live on Monday, November 23. The 2009-10 championship season continues at the Creek and the conference continues to show its strength in both women's soccer and women's volleyball as six teams are in the Top 25 in the NCAA soccer RPI and seven more teams are in the Top 25 in the NCAA volleyball RPI. The Pac-10 suspended a football official after he missed a facemask penalty call on a Trojan player in their win over Oregon State last week. Meanwhile, at NCAA HQ, the Division I board of directors will look at changes to the basketball recruiting process. USC In football, receiver Damian Williams was named as the conference's special teams player of the week. WSU In soccer, 22nd-ranked [RPI] Wazzu lost to top-rated Stanford in overtime and defeated California in overtimeto move to 11-4-1 overall and 3-1-1 in conference play. In volleyball, 30th-ranked [RPI] Wazzu defeated the rival Huskies to improve to 5-4 in conference play and 16-4 overall on the year. In football, the Cougars lost to California to fall to 1-6 overall and remain winless in conference play at 0-5. Washington In women's soccer, Washington received a 2011 verbal commitment from forward Carlin Huegli from Emerald City FC and a 2010 verbal commitment from forward Hillary Zevenbergen from Eastside FC. Oregon State In women's soccer, the Beavers upset USC and lost to UCLA to move to 10-5-1 overall and 2-3 in conference play. Oregon In women's soccer, the Ducks were swept in Los Angeles, losing to USC and UCLA to remain winless in conference play at 0-5 and fall to 8-7-1 overall. Stanford In women's soccer, the top-rated Cardinal remained undefeated overall and in conference play with a sweep of the Washington schools to improve to 17-0-0 overall and 6-0-0 in conference play. Arizona In men's hoop, 2010 forward recruit Rod Odom decommitted. In women's soccer, redshirt senior goalkeeper Devon Wharf was named as the conference's player of the week. UCLA In track & field, the Bruins announced their 2010 schedule. California In volleyball, senior outside hitter Hana Cutura was named as the conference's and AVCA's national player of the week.
