As rumored, former Texas Tech head football coach Mike Leach will be coming to Washington State University to become the next Wazzu head football coach beginning in the 2012 season.
There has been no official announcement yet but sources, including those at CBS and ESPN, have said that Leach has reached an agreement with Wazzu athletic director Bill Moos to coach the Cougars for the next five years with a contract expected to be among the top four in the Pac-12 conference.
Leach, who will be replacing former head coach Paul Wulff, who went only 9-40 in four years at the helm, had 84 wins in his nine years at Texas tech and took his teams to bowl games every year before being fired by the university in 2008. Leach has a pending lawsuit against the school and ESPN.
Leach is currently en route to Pullman and is expected to sign his new contract this week.
