Trace McSorley stays in touch with NC State

Three-star Trace McSorley is an intriguing prospect. The 6-foot, 176-pound athlete has led Ashburn (Va.) Briar Woods to three state titles as the starting quarterback, and that is where he prefers to play in college. However, some schools like him as a defensive back prospect, and he is still collecting offers at both positions.

Purdue is the latest offer, joining NC State, Boston College, Charlotte, Western Michigan, Connecticut and Ohio, as schools who have tendered him as a quarterback. Others, like North Carolina and Virginia Tech, are recruiting him as an athlete, which he is not ruling out as an option, but staying under center is his preference.
