Dockery no longer with team

PULLMAN | Washington State's depth at the cornerback position has been an area of concern this offseason and it's looking like there will be more questions in the secondary as Mike Leach confirmed that an expected contributor has left the program.

Redshirt freshman cornerback Rahmel Dockery has left the program and will pursue other options, Leach confirmed after the Cougars' second scrimmage of the fall.

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound cornerback was reportedly at practice wearing No. 31 today but was not suited up for the scrimmage and did not participate in any drills. He was absent from practice this week.

It's been an eventful couple years for Dockery before he even saw the field. As a non-qualifier out of high school, Dockery greyshirted after committing in the 2011 class and eventually signed with the Cougars as a member of the 2012 recruiting class as a January enrollee.

Dockery redshirted last season as he made the transition from wide receiver to cornerback.

Originally from Tacoma (Wash.) Curtis, the former three-star athlete racked up over 2,600 all-purpose yards and 17 touchdowns during his senior season.
