Bears Sweep Cougars

The Washington State University Cougar volleyball team continued the second half of Pac-10 conference play with another sweeping loss - this time to the California Bears, 3-0 at Bohler Gym in Pullman. With the loss, the Cougars fall to 6-18 overall and remain winless at 0-14 in conference play.
The Cougars were competitive in the first set and were challenging the Bears midway through the set, down 18-15. But California embarked on a 7-3 run that ended with a 25-18 Bear win.
Wazzu took it a step further in the second set and the two teams were all knotted up at 21 apiece when Cal fired off the last four points for the 25-21 victory.
California was more in control of the third set as Wazzu tied it at 12 but then the Bears ended the mystery with a finalizing 13-8 run and the 25-20 win.
Senior Brittany Tillman led Wazzu with 11 kills while sophomore Rachel Todorovich added 10.
- Todorovich also led Wazzu with 13 digs
- True freshman Sara Biondi led Wazzu with 30 assists.
Wazzu continues their 2010 season with a match against Arizona at 7pm on Friday, November 19 in Tucson.
