Cougs Lose To Oregon...Not Respectably

The Cougar football team played well despite losing in a respectable fashion last week to USC but that was not the case in Eugene this week as Oregon jumped all over the Cougars early en route to an easy 52-6 win. To make matters worse, true freshman quarterback, Jeff Tuel, making his first start ever, was lost for the game in the first quarter after sustaining a hip injury.
The game was over early as the Ducks scored 21 first quarter points and then 14 more in the second quarter before head coach Chip Kelly had mercy and finally yanked starting quarterback Jeremiah Masoli in the second quarter. Oregon tacked onm another touchdown before halftime for a 42-0 lead.

With Tuel out, quarterbacking duties went to former starting quarterback Marshall Lobbestael, who benefited from an Oregon muffed punt to score Wazzu's lone touchdown on a one yard quarterback sneak in the third quarter.
From there, the Ducks mailed it in for the fourth quarter and added just one more touchdown for the final score.
