Crimson Gray Game Report

The Washington State University football team held their final scrimmage of the 2011 spring practice session - the annual Crimson & Gray game - in Spokane and it went about as expected with the mostly first team-comprised Crimson obliterating the second team and lower Gray, 38-3 at Spokane's Joe Albi Stadium.
Wazzu running back Logwone Mitz ran for 106 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Crimson, composed mostly of the first team offense and defense. The Crimson had no problems handling the outmanned Gray squad and scored touchdowns on their first five offensive series beginning with incoming freshman Henry Eaddy's 32-yard score on a reverse run to the left side. Redshirt freshman running back Rickey Galvin then added a five-yard touchdown run before Mitz broke off a 70-yard run down the left sideline for his first score of the afternoon. The next Crimson drive saw incumbent starting quarterback Jeff Tuel connect with tight end Andrei Lintz in the back left corner of the end zone for a 29-yard touchdown pass. Mitz later capped the first half with a four-yard run to give the Crimson a 35-0 lead at the break. Andrew Furney provided the only scores in the second half, connecting on field goals of 53 and 20 yards.

Galvin rushed five times for 47 yards and Anthony Laurenzi made a pair of sacks.
NOTES:
The final scrimmage of the spring capped a full day's worth of activities for the Cougars players who visited the Children's Ward at Sacred Heart Hospital in the morning before later signing autographs and taking part in the Fan Fest held prior to the game.
