Falk is Burlsworth Trophy finalist again

Washington State quarterback Luke Falk was named a Burlsworth Trophy Finalist by the Brandon Burlsworth Foundation and Springdale Rotary Club Wednesday. The Burlsworth Trophy is given to the top player who began his career as a walk-on. Falk is a finalist for the third straight season.

Falk entered the week leading the Pac-12 Conference with 3,224 passing yards and 29 touchdowns while the Cougars are 9-2 and ranked No. 15 in the Associated Press Top-25. Falk has earned Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week honors twice this season and his 66.8 completion percentage is the seventh-highest in the country. In the win over No. 18 Stanford, Falk became the Pac-12’s all-time leader in passing yards and during last week’s win at Utah, broke the Pac-12 record for career passing touchdowns.

Falk, a redshirt-senior from Logan, Utah, owns Pac-12 and WSU records for passing yards (14,117), passing touchdowns (118), total offense (13,755), plays (2,243), completions (1,367), attempts (2,000) and 300-yard games (29). He also owns the WSU record for wins by a quarterback with 27.

Falk was named a Davey O’Brien Award semifinalist last week.
