When four-star quarterback Cammon Cooper announced his verbal commitment to WSU in May he brought something no other Mike Leach recruit had.

Genuine elite-ness.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound southpaw is the first ever Elite 11 quarterback to commit, and come December sign, to Leach since the competitions inception in 1999. In his first game as a senior, Cooper made it clear he's the perfect fit in the Air Raid offense Leach uses at WSU.

Lehi defeated Alta 72-66 in a made-for-Leach game that saw Cooper throw for 10 touchdowns and 599 yards with the game ending in double overtime. More specifically, Cooper told Rivals.com he threw 71 attempts in the game, a career high, but felt none of it.

"Feels great not even lying," Cooper said Saturday, the day after his Friday night delight. "It didn't really even feel like it to be honest. You don't even focus on the stats at all especially in a game like that."

Cooper is set to enroll in January at WSU and is expected to compete early with Tyler Hilinski for the starting job in 2018.
