Lancona, Cougars to part ways

Washington State basketball has been in somewhat of a hiatus for the
better part of the last year and news broke this afternoon that one of

the commits in the 2013 class has decided to explore other options.
Tanner Lancona, a 6-foot-8, 225-pound forward confirmed
with WazzuWatch.com that he will no longer be attending Washington
State.
"I'm decommitting from Washington State, it was a mutual agreement and
I'm looking forward to new options," Lancona said in a text
message. "It's position related."
Lancona was not available for further comment at the time of our
conversation.
The Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., product committed to Washington
State in late October was expected to provide much needed depth in the
post for the Cougars - possibly as soon as next season.
The Cougars were in a scholarship bind with the addition of junior
college transfer PG Danny Lawhorn. With Lancona now no longer in
the mix, head coach Ken Bone now has 13 scholarship players for next
season.
PG Ikenna Iroegbu and PF Josh Hawkinson join Lawhorn
as the only members in the 2013 class.
