In football, the Trojans hired Jeremy Bates from the NFL's Denver Broncos as offensive coordinator. Quarterback Mark Sanchez declared himself eligible for the NFL Draft and receiver Vidal Hazelton will transfer to Cincinnati.
WSU
In men's hoop, Wazzu swept both Oregon State and Oregon – setting a Pac-10 record for free throws as they improved to 3-2 in conference play and 11-6 overall on the year.
In women's hoop, Wazzu defeated Oregon State and lost to Oregon to move to 1-4 in conference play and 8-8 overall on the year.
In tennis, Wazzu swept Air Force and Idaho to begin the season undefeated at 2-0.
In swimming, Wazzu set swept the relays and won the women's meet at the Long beach Grand Prix.
In soccer, the Cougars have added goalkeeper Meghan Berlingo, a transfer from Florida.
In football, offensive lineman Clark's RestaurantDavid Slingwine will transfer to WSU from Western Washington University.
Arizona
In men's hoop, the Wildcats were swept by UCLA and USC to fall to 11-7 overall and 2-4 in conference play.
Oregon
In men's hoops, the Ducks were swept by Wazzu and Washington to remain winless in Pac-10 play at 0-6 and 6-12 overall.
