It is March and there is still much madness at the Creek as 12 conference teams were in action in post-season tourney play last week. Three of those teams have advanced to the Sweet 16 of their respective NCAA tournaments – Stanford in the women's and Washington and UCLA in the men's.

Meanwhile, at NCAA HQ, a record four million visitors were served 14 million live online streams of the men's NCAA tournament last week in a setting a record for any live event in internet history.

Stanford

In men's hoop, Stanford defeated Virginia in the first round of the NIT tournament, then lost to Missouri State in the second round to finish their season at 17-15.

In women's hoop, the Cardinal defeated SE Missouri State in the first round and Florida State in the second round to move into the Sweet 16 against Oklahoma in the NCAA Tournament.

WSU

Redshirt freshman defensive back Shelton Danzy linebacker Steffan Blume and redshirt sophomore defensive lineman Reyshawn Bobo have all left the football team. Danzy is reportedly considering a transfer to a Division I-AA school.

In baseball, the Cougars defeated Bucknell, Gonzaga and Lafayette while losing to Fresno State and Miami [Ohio] to move to 18-6 on the year and are ranked 97th.

The tennis team defeated Wyoming, Hawai'i and Loyola Marymount before falling to Ohio State, moving to 9-8 overall on they year and are ranked 72nd.

UCLA

In men's hoop, UCLA defeated Belmont in the first round and Alabama in the second round of the NCAA Tournament and will play Gonzaga in the Sweet 16.

In women's hoop, the Bruins defeated Bowling Green in the first round of the NCAA Tournament before losing to Purdue in the second round and finishing their season at 21-11.

USC

Senior running back Hershel Dennis injured his hamstring and will sit out a week of spring practice.

In women's hoop, the Women of Troy defeated South Florida in the first round of the NCAA Tournament and lost to Duke in the second round to finish their season at 19-12.

California

In men's hoop, California lost their first round NCAA game to North Carolina State and finished their season at 20-12.

In women's hoop, the Bears lost to St. John's in the first round of the NCAA Tournament and finished their season at 18-12.

Washington

California secondary coach J.D. Williams has joined the staff at Washington. Defensive lineman Emeka Iweka gave a verbal commitment to Washington.

In men's hoop, the Huskies defeated Utah State in the first round and Illinois in the second round of the NCAA Tournament and will play Connecticut in the Sweet 16.

In women's hoop, Washington beat Minnesota in the first round, but lost to LSU in the second round of the NCAA Tournament to finish their season at 19-11.

Oregon State

In women's hoop, Oregon State defeated Santa Clara in the first round of the WNIT then lost to Wyoming in the second round to finish their season at 16-15.

Arizona

Arizona lost four scholarships in football and 1.17 scholarships in baseball for 2006 as a result of low Academic Progress Rate [APR] scores.

In men's hoop, the Wildcats defeated Wisconsin in the first round of the NCAA Tournament then lost to Villanova in the second round to finish their season at 20-13.

Oregon

Junior pole vaulter Tommy Skipper set a school record with a mark of 19 feet-6.

Arizona State

In women's hoop, the Sun Devils beat Stephen F. Austin in the first round but lost to Utah in the second round of the NCAA Tournament to finish their season at 25-7 overall.
