The Big Dance is still the main news at the Creek this week as two conference teams remain in the national title hunt – UCLA for the men and Stanford for the women – while a grand total of 10 athletes [nine men and one woman] were announced as part of the Associated Press All-America teams.

An updated version of the 2007-08 Director's Cup standings were released and once again, 13-time defending champ Stanford has taken over the lead while seven Pac-10 schools are in the Top 25.

Meanwhile, at NCAA HQ, the Arizona men's swim team won their first-ever national championship to go along with the national title won by the Arizona women's team last month.

Oregon

In women's lacrosse, senior midfielder Jen May was named as the co-player of the week in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.

Stanford

In men's hoop, the Cardinal lost to Texas in the Sweet 16 at the NCAA Tournament and twin centers Brook Lopez and Robin Lopez have both decided to make themselves eligible for the NBA Draft.

In women's hoop, Stanford defeated Pittsburgh and Maryland to advance to the Final Four at the Women's NCAA Tournament.

Arizona

In men's hoop, the head coach Lute Olson has indicated that assistant coach and interim head coach Kevin O'Neill would not return for next season.

UCLA

In men's hoop, the Bruins defeated Western Kentucky and Xavier to advance to the Final Four in the NCAA Tournament.

Oregon State

In football, the Beavers hired UNLV running backs assistant coach Reggie Davis as running backs coach.

USC

In men's hoop, sophomore forward Taj Gibson is reported to be mulling over a decision on whether to make himself eligible for the NBA Draft.

WSU

In men's hoop, the Cougars lost to top-seeded North Carolina in the Sweet 16 at the NCAA Tournament to finish their year at 26-9 overall. Senior guard Kyle Weaver was named as an Honorable Mention on CollegeHoops.net's All-America team. Freshman guard Stephen Sauls is not expected to return to the team due to lingering migraine headaches problems.

In baseball, the Cougars lost two out of three to Stanford and one more to Santa Clara to fall to 16-10 overall and 2-4 in conference play with a 24 RPI.

In soccer, assistant coaches Lindsey Jorgensen and Erin Otagaki have left to pursue other opportunities and ODP Region IV head coach Jason Goodson has been hired as an assistant coach.

Washington

In men's hoop, assistant coach Cameron Dollar is a finalist for the head coaching position at Sacramento State.

ASU

In men's hoop, sophomore guard Christian Polk will transfer to another school.

California

In men's hoop, head coach Ben Braun was fired.

In football, running back James Montgomery will transfer to another school.
