Championship season continues to bring in more champions at the Creek as UCLA won the NCAA title in men's golf while Arizona State took the title in softball and Pac-10 teams remain in contention for the national title in baseball.

An updated version of the 2007-08 Director's Cup standings were released and once again, 13-time defending champ Stanford is well out in front while the entire Pac-10 membership is represented in the Top 103 – including eight Pac-10 schools in the Top 40.

Meanwhile, at NCAA HQ, beach volleyball is receiving consideration as a possible sport that universities can add to fulfill Title IX requirements. The sport has been received well in events held so far and the NCAA is considering adding legislative discussion about it on their fall docket.

UCLA

In baseball, the Bruins were eliminated from the NCAA tournament in a loss to Cal State-Fullerton.

Arizona State

In baseball, the Sun Devils advanced to the NCAA Super Regional where they will play Fresno State.

In football, ASU received a verbal commitment from linebacker Anthony Rose.

Oregon

In track and field, sophomore Andrew Wheating won the 800 meter race and junior Rachel Yurkovich won the women's javelin title at the NCAA West Regional.

Arizona

In baseball, the Wildcats advanced the NCAA Super Regional where they will play Miami.

In men's hoop, point guard Abdul Gaddy has decommitted and will re-open his recruiting.

Stanford

In baseball, Stanford advanced to the NCAA Super Regional where they will play Cal State-Fullerton.

Oregon State

In swimming, the Beavers added Rachel Wahl and Anna Heller to the team.

USC

In track and field, juniors Eva Orban won the women's hammer and Corey White won the men's javelin at the NCAA West Regional.

Washington

In men's hoop, Washington received a verbal commitment from guard C.J. Wilcox.

WSU

In rowing, Wazzu finished eighth at the NCAA Women's Rowing Championships.

In track and field, Jeshua Anderson won the 400-meter hurdles, leading a contingent of Cougars into the NCAA Championships next week in Iowa

In football, WSU received a verbal commitment from Geoff Meinken.

In soccer, Wazzu released their 2008 schedule.

California

In rowing, the Bears took third place with 53 points at the NCAA Women's Rowing Championships.
