It is the slow portion of the 2008-09 season at the Creek as the autumn sports begin the process of getting up to speed for next month's competitions but the conference has unveiled a newly renovated official website for 2008-09.

Meanwhile, at NCAA HQ, Dan Guerrero, the athletic director at UCLA, was selected as the men's basketball committee chairman for 2009-10.

UCLA

In men's hoop, the Bruins released their schedule which features non-conference games against Notre Dame, Texas and Wyoming.

Washington

In men's hoop, Washington released their schedule which features non-conference games against Oklahoma State, Lehigh and Montana.

WSU

In track and field, Wazzu hurdling sensation Jeshua Anderson won the 400-meter hurdling title at the World Junior Track and Field Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

In football, the Cougars received a verbal commitment from tight end Aaron Dunn.

In volleyball, Wazzu added three players to the roster – middle blocker Emily Rooney, a transfer from South Dakota State, setter Renee Bordelon, a transfer from North Idaho College and defensive specialist/libero Brianne Flach.

California

In women's rowing, Sarah Whipple was hired as an assistant coach.

Oregon State

In women's soccer, the schedule was announced and features non-conference matches against Utah, Fresno State and Portland.

Arizona

In men's hoop, Wildcat recruit Brandon Jennings announced he would go to Europe to play and Arizona received a verbal commitment from guard Garland Judkins.

In football, the Wildcats received a verbal commitment from tight end Jack Baucus.

Stanford

In women's hoop, current and former Cardinal players Claire Bodensteiner and Jillian Harmon were named to New Zealand's Olympic team at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

USC

In men's hoop, recruit DeMar DeRozan is academically eligible to compete.

Arizona State

In men's swimming, the program was reinstated.

In football, the Sun Devils received a verbal commitment from tight end Chris Coyle and defensive back Osahon Irabor.

Oregon

In football, redshirt freshman defensive back Todd Doxey died after a drowning accident.
