The 2009-10 championship season is now officially underway at the Creek as all 10 of the conference's women's volleyball teams have played their first match with the conference going 24-6 overall in the first week of action.

In football, the Sun Devils lost sophomore defensive end James Brooks for three weeks due to a team rules violation.

In men's soccer, Washington defeated Seattle University in their season opener.

Oregon

In women's soccer, the Ducks defeated Fresno State to move to 1-1 overall on the year.

In football, redshirt freshman safety Josh LaGrone is out for the season with a knee injury.

Arizona

In football, tight end Rob Gronkowski may miss the season opener against Central Michigan due to a back injury.

WSU

In soccer, 30th-ranked Wazzu defeated Syracuse but were upset by Colorado College to move to 2-1 overall on the year.

In volleyball, Wazzu defeated UC-Davis, Montana State and Portland to begin the season at 3-0 overall.

USC

In football, receiver Ronald Johnson is out for two months after breaking his collarbone and defensive back Shareece Wright has been declared academically ineligible.

UCLA

In football, Ohio State defensive lineman Willie Mobley will transfer to UCLA.

California

In women's soccer, the Bears were blown out by Portland to drop to 1-1 overall on the year.

Stanford

In men's soccer, the Cardinal lost to Lehigh in their season opener.
