The 2009-10 championship season is officially underway at the Creek and the conference is again showing its strength in women's volleyball as nine teams are represented in the national poll.

Meanwhile, at NCAA HQ, the playing times and broadcast schedule for the 2009 Women's College Cup were announced.

UCLA

In football, quarterback Kevin Prince is out for at least three weeks with a broken jaw and four players - defensive back Courtney Viney, running back Milton Knox and receivers Morrell Presley and Randall Carroll - have been suspended for this week's game against Kansas State.

Arizona

In women's soccer, the Wildcats lost to Rutgers to fall to 2-4-1 overall.

Washington

In football, Washington won their first football game in two years, defeating Idaho to move to 1-1 overall on the season.

Stanford

In women's soccer, the Cardinal defeated Notre Dame to remain undefeated at 7-0 overall this year.

Oregon

In volleyball, Oregon defeated Utah to remain undefeated at 7-0 overall on the season.

USC

In football, junior running back Joe McKnight was named as the conference's offensive player of the week.

Oregon State

In women's soccer, Oregon State won their fifth match in a row with a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Loyola Marymount to improve to 5-1 overall on the year.

Arizona State

In women's volleyball, the Sun Devils defeated Montana to improve to 7-2 overall on the year.

WSU

In volleyball, 35th-ranked Wazzu remained undefeated with victories over Cal State-Northridge and Gonzaga to begin the season at 11-0 overall.

In soccer, 40th-ranked Wazzu defeated BYU to improve to 4-2 overall on the year and the Cougars received a 2011 verbal commitment from Las Vegas forward Bethanie Skelton.

In football, the Cougars lost to Hawai'i to remain winless on the year at 0-2 overall.

In women's hoop, Wazzu received a verbal commitment from guard Sage Romberg.

California

In men's soccer, junior forward Andrew Wiedeman was named as the conference's player of the week.
