It is TV time at the creek as the women's basketball television schedule was released – a 22-game package that features California and Stanford six times apiece.

Meanwhile, at NCAA HQ, the NCAA has approved a recommendation that will, beginning with the 2009 championship, move to a post-season tournament model of 16 pre-determined sites with four teams each for the first and second rounds.

Nine finalists for the 2007 NCAA Woman of the Year finalists were selected and Whitney Myers [swimming and diving] from Arizona was chosen as of the finalists. The winner will be announced on October 27.

USC

In football, the top-ranked Trojans defeated WSU, 47-14, to remain undefeated at 3-0 and 1-0 in conference play.

Stanford

In football, the Cardinal lost to Oregon, 55-31, to fall to 1-2 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

Arizona

In football, the Wildcats lost to California, 45-27, to fall to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

Oregon

In football, the Ducks defeated Stanford, 55-31, to improve to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in conference play. Senior quarterback Dennis Dixon was named as the conference's offensive player of the week. Receiver Brian Paysinger is out for the season with a knee injury

Arizona State

In football, the Sun Devils beat Oregon State, 44-32, to improve to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

Oregon State

In football, the Beavers lost to Arizona State, 44-32, to drop to 2-2 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

California

In football, the Bears beat Arizona, 45-27, to improve to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in conference play. Senior Thomas DeCoud was named as the conference's defensive player of the week.

In men's hoop, California received a verbal commitment from guard Garrett Sim.

UCLA

In football, the Bruins defeated Washington, 44-31, to improve to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play. Senior kick returner Matthew Slater was named as the conference's special teams player of the week.

WSU

In football, the Cougars lost to USC, 47-14, to fall to 2-2 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

In men's hoop, WSU received a verbal commitment from James Watson.

In women's soccer, 23rd-ranked Wazzu beat Nevada but lost to UNLV to move to 5-1-1 overall.

In women's hoop, the Cougars received a verbal commitment from forward Rosie Tarnowski.

In volleyball, the Cougars lost to Oregon and Oregon State to drop to 9-7 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

Washington

In football, the Huskies lost to UCLA, 44-31, to drop to 2-2 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

In volleyball, senior outside hitter Stevie Mussie was named as the conference's player of the week.
