In soccer, 24th-ranked Wazzu tied USC but lost to UCLA to drop to 6-3-4 overall and 0-1-1 in the Pac-10.

In volleyball, the Cougars were swept on the road by USC and UCLA to drop to 0-6 in conference play and 7-10 overall on the year.

In women's hoop, Wazzu received a verbal commitment from point guard Ki-Shawna Moore.

Arizona State

In cross country, freshman Kate Lydy won the 5000 meters at the ASU Invitational.

Oregon State

In football, the Beavers defeated WSU, 66-13, to improve to 3-3 overall and 2-1 in the Pac-10.

Arizona

In soccer, the Wildcats defeated rival Arizona State for the first time in program history to improve to 8-4 overall and 1-0 in the Pac-10.

UCLA

In football, receiver Terrence Austin suffered a strained neck and concussion in last week's loss to Oregon and is questionable for this week's game.

Oregon

In football, defensive back Jairus Byrd was named as the conference's defensive player of the week.

In women's hoop, the Ducks received a verbal commitment from forward Aliyah Green.
