The Creek goes pink this week as football officials, in honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, will don symbolic pink whistles for the games in the remaining two weeks of the month.

Also, the women's hoop coaches' predictions were released and seven-time defending champ Stanford was selected to win it again. The men's hoop television schedule was announced with 81 contests tentatively scheduled for telecast – led by Arizona and UCLA seeing the most TV time.

Meanwhile, at NCAA HQ, all 16 teams competing in the 2008 NIT Season Tip-Off will be guaranteed at least four games with the first two games to be played at home campus sites. Four semi-finalists will then play at Madison Square Garden in New York City while the remaining 12 teams will play each other on home campuses determined by seeding.

Arizona

In football, the Wildcats lost to Stanford, 21-20, to drop to 2-6 overall and 1-4 in conference play. Defensive back Robert Golden has de-committed from Arizona.

In women's hoop, junior guards Malia O'Neal and Kelsey Burns along with senior forward Whitney Fields, have all transferred. Burns has gone to Division II Seattle Pacific, Fields went to Long Beach State and O'Neal is undecided. Additionally, senior center Suzy Bofia will redshirt this season due to pregnancy.

WSU

In women's soccer, 27th-ranked Wazzu defeated the rival Huskies for the fourth consecutive time, 2-1, to improve to 9-2-2 overall and 2-1 in conference play.

In volleyball, the Cougars were swept by USC and UCLA to fall to 9-14 overall and 0-9 in conference play.

Stanford

In football, the Cardinal defeated Arizona, 21-20, to improve to 3-4 overall and 2-3 in conference play. Tight end Jim Dray was lost for the season due to a knee injury.

In men's hoop, sophomore forward Brook Lopez – already academically ineligible for the Cardinal;'s first nine games of the season - was suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules while his twin brother, Robin Lopez, was placed on probation.

USC

In football, the Trojans blanked Notre Dame, 38-0, to improve to 6-1 overall and 3-1 in conference play.

Oregon State

In football, offensive lineman Tavita Thompson is out for th eyear.

Washington

In football, the Huskies lost to Oregon, 55-34, to drop to 2-5 overall and 0-4 in conference play. Defensive lineman Derek Kosub has left the team.

In volleyball, senior outside hitter Christal Morrison was named as the conference's player of the week.

Arizona State

In football, senior running back Ryan Torain is out for the season with a toe injury and the Sun Devils received a verbal commitment from quarterback Jack Elway.

UCLA

In football, the Bruins beat California, 30-21, to improve to 5-2 overall and 4-0 in conference play. Sophomore defensive back Alterraun Verner and freshman kicker Kai Forbath were named as the conference's defensive and special teams players of the week, respectively.

Oregon

In football, the Ducks defeated Washington, 55-34, to improve to 6-1 overall and 3-1 in conference play. Receiver Derrick Jones has been suspended from the team indefinitely after being arrested for driving with a suspended license. Kicker Luke Bellotti – the son of head coach Mike Bellotti - was arrested in February for a DUI and must serve five days in jail before December 30 after already sitting out the first three games of the year under suspension. Junior running back Jonathan Stewart was named as the conference's offensive player of the week.

California

In football, the Bears lost to UCLA, 30-21, to fall to 5-2 overall and 2-2 in conference play.
