Meanwhile at NCAA HQ, the NCAA has amended their policies related to the Student Athlete Opportunity Fund to conferences. Expenses related to athletic development, such as participation in sports camps, private, sports-related instruction, greens fees, batting cage fees and participation in a foreign tour, will no longer be allowed to use funds from this source.

Washington

The Huskies lost to California, 31-24, to fall to 4-4 overall and 2-3 in conference play. Running back Michael Houston was suspended from the team after being arrested on a charge of auto theft.

In women's soccer, the Huskies were swept by California and Stanford to drop to 6-10 overall and 1-4 in conference play.

Sixth-ranked Washington swept ASU and Arizona to improve to 17-3 overall and 7-2 in conference play in volleyball.

Oregon

The 23rd-ranked Ducks lost to WSU, 34-23, to drop to 5-2 overall and 3-2 in conference play.

In women's soccer, the Ducks defeated rival Oregon State to improve to 10-5-1 overall and 4-0-1 in conference play. Senior forward Nicole Garbin was named as the conference's player of the week.

Oregon defeated California and lost to Stanford to move to 15-4 overall and 5-4 in conference play in volleyball.

Oregon State

The Beavers defeated Arizona, 17-10, to improve to 4-3 overall and 2-3 in conference play.

The Beavers lost to rival Oregon to fall to 8-6-2 overall and 1-4 in conference play in women's soccer.

Oregon State was swept by California and Stanford to drop to 3-15 overall and 0-9 in conference play in volleyball.

USC

In women's soccer, the 23rd-ranked Women of Troy beat ASU and tied Arizona to improve to 8-3-4 overall and 1-1-3 in conference play in women's soccer.

Fifth-ranked Women of Troy lost to rival UCLA to drop to 18-2 overall and 7-2 in conference play in volleyball.

WSU

The 25th-ranked Cougars defeated Oregon, 34-23, to improve to 5-3 overall and 3-2 in conference play. Senior defensive back Eric Frampton and junior punter Darryl Blunt were named as Pac-10 players of the week for defense and special teams, respectively.

The Cougars lost to Stanford and beat California to move to 8-5-3 overall and 3-1-1 in conference play in women's soccer.

WSU beat Arizona but lost to Arizona State to move to 14-9 overall and 2-7 in conference play.

Arizona

The Wildcats lost to Oregon State, 17-10, to drop to 3-5 overall and 1-4 in conference play.

In men's hoop, Arizona added assistants Jesse Mermuys and Matt Brase to the staff.

Arizona lost to UCLA and tied USC to drop to 8-7-2 overall and 1-3-2 in conference play in women's soccer.

Arizona was swept by WSU and Washington to drop to 10-11 overall and 1-8 in conference play in volleyball.

UCLA

The Bruins lost to Notre Dame, 20-17, to move to 4-3 overall and 2-2 in conference play.

The third-ranked Bruins swept ASU and Arizona to improve to 14-2 overall and 5-0 in conference play.

The fourth-ranked Bruins defeated rival USC tom improve to 21-1 overall and 8-1 in conference play in volleyball. Senior middle blocker Nana Meriwether was named as the conference's player of the week.

Arizona State

The Sun Devils defeated Stanford, 38-3, to move to 4-3 overall and 1-3 in conference play.

The Sun Devils were swept by UCLA and USC to drop to 6-8-2 overall and 1-5 in conference play in women's soccer.

In volleyball, the Sun Devils lost to Washington but beat WSU to move to 11-9 overall and 3-6 in conference play.

Stanford

The Cardinal lost to ASU, 38-3, to drop to 0-8 overall and 0-5 in conference play.

The 17th-ranked Cardinal swept Washington and WSU to improve to 11-5-1 overall and 4-1-1 in conference play.

Third-ranked Stanford swept Oregon and OSU to improve to 17-2 overall and 8-1 in conference play in volleyball.

California

The 10th-ranked Bears defeated Washington, 31-24, to improve to 7-1 overall and 5-0 in conference play. Senior linebacker Chris Purtz was suspended from the team following an incident at a San Francisco adult club. Junior running back Marshawn Lynch was named as the conference's player of the week.

California beat Washington but lost to WSU to move to 8-4-4 overall and 1-3-2 in conference play in women's soccer.

The 11th-ranked Bears lost to Oregon but defeated OSU to move to 15-5 overall and 4-5 in conference play in volleyball.
