Pac-Tending 11-14-07

"There was human error in that, while reviewing the available replays, the [instant replay] crew failed to notify the game officials to stop play before the ball was snapped for the next play. It was not the fault of the equipment. The game should have been stopped and the play reviewed. The members of the IR crew have been reprimanded."
- Pac-10 conference commissioner Tom Hansen, referring to the instant replay snafu that occurred during last week's Oregon State-Washington football game State.

The situation was dicey at the Creek this week as football had some shenanigans in the Oregon State-Washington game and women's soccer had four teams selected for the NCAA tournament but two more including, inexplicably, Wazzu, left at home for the second year in a row.
Meanwhile, at NCAA HQ, the NCAA will provide a forum to honor the accomplishments of former student-athletes while in military service of their country at their convention on January 13.

Both Payton and Hughes were involved in a fight in last week's game against Washington.
