Wazzu Clubs Sam

The Washington State University volleyball team continues their surprising early run as the Cougars defeated Sam Houston State, 3-1 at Bohler Gym in Pullman. With the victory, Wazzu improves to 8-2 overall on the year.
As they have done against their last two opponents, Wazzu took the early lead by taking the first set, this time to the tune of 25-17 - but unlike their last two opponents, Sam Houston State was able to fight off the Cougars and claim the second set by a score of 25-21.

Wazzu regained control and took the third set, 25-20, then finished off the Bearkats for good in the fourth set, 25-18.
As usual, senior Meagan Ganzer continued to be a monster at the net, loading up on 21 kills in this match - and was joined in double figures by true freshman Jaicee Harris, who added 12 kills.
NOTES:
- Sophomore setter Camryn Irwin recorded 45 assists in the match.
- It was a career high number of kills for Harris.
Wazzu continues their 2011 season with a match against UCLA at 7PM on Friday, September 16 at Bohler Gym in Pullman.
