Wazzu Completes First Fall Scrimmage

Three quarterbacks and no interceptions. It was a good way for the 2008 version of the Washington State University Cougar football team to begin on offense under head coach Paul Wulff's new offensive system.
In the first fall scrimmage of the year, projected starting quarterback Gary Rogers went 9-for-13 for 80 yards while backup Kevin Lopina went 7-for-12 for 90 yards and third-string QB Marshall Lobbestael went a perfect 2-for-2 and completed the only touchdown pass of the day, a 20-yard strike to freshman tight end Skylar Stormo.

Receiver Brandon Gibson and tight end Devin Frischknecht each had three receptions to lead the team while Lopina led all rushers with 29 yards in three attempts.
On special teams, each sophomore kicker – Wade Penner and Nico Grasu – converted two of three field goal attempts.
