There has a been a recent run on junior college commits for Washington State, but late Saturday night the program went back to the high school ranks for its latest addition. Versatile linebacker Tristan Bohannon is the latest addition for Jake Dickert's program announcing his choice during the middle of an official visit to Pullman.

The 6-foot-3 prospect from Munford, Tennessee looked like he was destined to remain close to home at Memphis after an official visit to the in-state program last week. However, the Cougars were able to get Bohannon on a trip out to the Palouse, and it swayed him in the other direction.

His decision gives the Cougars 16 commitments in the 2023 class, and the team has been on a bit of a roll in recent weeks with five prospects giving WSU their pledges since late November.

Bohannon's Munford team had a successful 11-1 season, and the new Wazzu commit was a big part the team this year. He finished his senior season with 63 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, four sacks and two interceptions.

Munford is a smaller city outside Memphis, so it marks an impressive find for the Cougars. Bohannon was able to receive some Power Five interest, but most of his offers came from smaller programs such as Austin Peay, Alabama State and Tennessee State among others.

The two-way athlete played tight end, receiver and outside linebacker in high school, and he could grow to be an edge rusher for the Cougars during his college career.

Bohannon will have his opportunity to sign with WSU in just 10 days when the early signing period opens up across the country.
