Wazzu Snaps Virginias Win Streak

The Washington State University soccer program went across the country and snapped the six-match win streak of Virginia with a 0-0 draw with the Cavaliers in Charlottesville. With the draw, Wazzu moves to 4-1-1 overall on the year.
Starting four true freshmen and a redshirt freshman in goal, Wazzu held off seventh-ranked Virginia - the nation's leading goal-scoring team [26 goals] - for 90 minutes and broke the Cavaliers' six-match win streak in the process. Wazzu, however, was unable to put together many scoring opportunities and only had two shots on goal for the entire match - both in the first half - from junior Brandi Vega and true freshman Beau Bremer.

Virginia outshot the Cougars, 19-4, for the match.
Wazzu played only 14 athletes in the match - making only three substitutions in the entire match.
