Wazzu Stays Unbeaten Against Gonzaga

Washington State University has never lost a soccer match to Gonzaga in 18 contests – and that was not going to change in 2008 as redshirt sophomore Mallory Fox kept Wazzu unblemished against the Zags with the game-winning shot in a 1-0 victory in front of a season-high crowd of 712 at Cougarland Field in Pullman. The Cougars are now 17-0-1 all-time against Gonzaga and improve to 4-2-3 overall on the year.
Fox scored for the second consecutive match and for the third time this year, this time off a free kick approximately midway through the first half. Sophomore goalkeeper Lindsay Parlee made that lone goal stand up against the stubborn Zags with six saves in recording her second shutout of the season.

Fox's goal gives her seven for her career and inches her closer to the all-time Top 10 while Wazzu kept Gonzaga scoreless for the third consecutive time in Pullman – the Zags last scored against the Cougars in Pullman in 2000.
Wazzu will now host their neighbor Idaho at 1p.m. on Sunday, September 28 at Cougarland Field in Pullman.
