The Washington State University Cougar men's hoop team had four players in double digits in scoring and got off to their expected fast start with an easy 86-47 victory over outmatched Southern University at Beasley Coliseum in Pullman.
The Cougars were precise in their shooting as JC transfer Faisal Aden again led Wazzu in scoring for the second consecutive time this season, netting 18 points against the Jaguars. Following Aden in double figures were junior Klay Thompson with 15 points, fellow junior DeAngelo Casto with 16 points and sophomore Brock Motum - making his first career start - responded with a career-high 14 points. For the game, Wazzu shot 53% as a team.
Wazzu was never threatened in the game as they took a 41-18 lead into the locker room at halftime and cruised in for the easy win in the second half.
Junior Marcus Capers led the Cougars with a career-high 15 rebounds.
- Sophomore point guard Reggie Moore did not play due to a wrist injury and is out indefinitely.
